Part of this site was allocated for residential development and the remainder was on Green Belt land although previously used as a garden centre. The challenge was to maximise development on the allocated part and to ensure that the development on the greenbelt part did not exceed the existing building volume, whilst also delivering a housing mix to match the exact mix set out in the housing needs assessment.
