Housing Mix, Area and Density Calculator

This calculator works out how many units you can fit on your net site area for any given mix. You can input either numbers of units or percentages of your target number. The calculator works out how much area is required (including gardens, parking spaces, footpaths and secondary roads). You can adjust the inputs in real time to see the impact of different unit mixes on your site.

If you just want to see what density a specified mix of units will generate and you only have percentage splits (such as in a Housing Needs Assessment), simply put 100 in the target number of units box and 10 in the Net Site Area box, fill in the percentages and the calculator will give you the density in dwellings per hectare.
