Work Starts on site in Norfolk

Bluepencil Designs are delighted to announce that work has started on ‘The Brambles” site in Burnham Overy Staithe on the north Norfolk coast.

The ground workers have completed the foundations for the main house and the annex building and the precast concrete basement is now in place.

The house is being manufactured in Germany by Meisterstuek Haus and will be delivered to the site in early September.

This is our first project involving a factory built house. The design is a realization of our client’s very clear vision for their home on this beautiful site. The concept behind the house was to provide flexible living accommodation that could be used in different ways according to the seasons.

The planning challenges included a maximum footprint limit, a site in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of the Holkham Estate, a site at the edge of the village boundary and conservation area and a site with a significant gradient.

Close communication and detailed discussions with Kings Lynn and West Norfolk local authority and a robust Design and Access Statement certainly helped to secure this planning consent.

We were delighted to work with Beacon Planning, an award winning planning and heritage consultancy, on this project.
