West of Mildenhall – Masterplan Approved

In November the masterplan (a 134 page document) was approved by West Suffolk Council following two rounds of public consultation. The masterplan is for a mixed use development of 1300 new homes, 5 hectares of commercial land, a primary school, a local centre, a 10 hectare ‘suitable alternative natural green space’ (SANG), green infrastructure, and associated roads, footpaths, cycleways and drainage.

The Masterplan sets out the analysis work leading to constraints mapping and then the various frameworks that together form the Illustrative masterplan. The document also contains a chapter on design guidance including topics such as density, heights, landscape and character.

A data linked proving layout and model were produced from which we can generate housing mix schedules, density schedules and phasing diagrams – all to show that the proposals are robust and deliverable.

We are delighted to be preparing an Outline Planning Application for the site following the approval of the masterplan and its adoption as Supplementary Planning Guidance
