The preparation of the Framework document was co-ordinated through the Local Development Plan Developer Forum, led by Officers from Maldon District Council and in association with ATLAS (Advisory Team for Large Applications), part of the Homes and Communities Agency
We produced the document on behalf of Countryside Properties, the party with the largest land interest within the allocated development area. The Framework set out a broad spatial vision and key principles against which planning applications for development within the North Heybridge Garden Suburb will be assessed. The Framework will be adopted by the Council as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
The document defines key development principles and strategic concepts to enable a co-ordinated approach to deliver the proposed level of growth in a garden suburb context. It provides guidance to inform subsequent planning applications.
It is a flexible document that will facilitate and enable the delivery of a Garden Suburb north of Heybridge. Once adopted by Maldon District Council as an SPD, the Framework will be a material consideration in the determination of all planning applications.
