The brief was to produce a three dimensional model from which a number of views could be produced for a public exhibition. The timescale was tight and we had not been involved in the project at all before recieving the brief. 

We were given a .dwg file of a ‘masterplan’ showing the road layout, the location of the different land uses and a target number of residential units per parcel, plus a suggested mix.

The first step was to print each parcel area onto paper at a scale of 1:1000. A hand sketch was then produced for each parcel showing the location of apartments and each residential unit. 

These drawings were scanned and laid on the REVIT base plan and individual generic ‘Housetype’ models were placed on the sketch. The sketch was then removed and the roads, trees, waterways and green space added. Further work was carried out in Photoshop to produce the finished images
